Salt-glazed Anna Pottery pig flask by Wallace and Cornwall
Kirkpatrick of Anna, Illinois, incised and cobalt highlights,
one side referring to St. Louis as “the Western New York,” the
remainder with a map of Illinois landmarks and cities, dated
1889, 7½" long, chips and losses, $8400.
Leeds pearlware platter with patriotic shield-breasted
eagle and blue feather edge, English, 19th century,
underside impressed “Wood,” 12¼" x 15¼", multiple
chips to edges, $923.

Chalkware cat nodder in striped paint, American,
19th century, 4" x 7", paint loss, head and body
repainted, $1680.
Ohio dovetailed copper kettle with gooseneck spout and bail
handle, marked for Jacob Resor (1786-1845), Cincinnati, mid-19th
century, 12" high overall, $1440. Resor was from a prominent
Pennsylvania family of gunsmiths. He moved to Cincinnati in 1811
and began advertising as a coppersmith in 1816.

Full-length folk art portrait by Jacob Maentel (1778-
1863), the inscription identifying the subject as John
Christian and dating the watercolor to 1808, toning to
paper, not laid down, one wormhole near frame, $3600.

Monumental (each 95½" x 50", plus frame) portraits
of Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln by
Rudolf Tschudi (Swiss-American, 1855-1923), oil
on canvas, each signed and dated 1916, each with
surface dirt and a hole in lower part of canvas,
$3120 for Jefferson, $2520 for Lincoln. According to
the catalog, the works were possibly executed for the
1916 election pitting incumbent president Woodrow
Wilson against Supreme Court Justice Charles
Evans Hughes.
