Belskie, Sc. (MACO) Mint condition with a short linear dent

between the second N of BENJAMIN and the R of RUSH. There

are also a series of small round depressions to the right and a bit

below the dates in the right obverse field. Screw holes on the

reverse for attachment to a base. Obv: High relief bust of the

famed medical doctor to half right. BENJAMIN RUSH FIRST

GREAT PHYSICIAN IN AMERICA around. Vital dates in the

right field: 1745/ 1813. Rx: Vignettes illustrating his work as a

physician, chemist and signer of the Declaration of Independence.

This medal was one PAM’s offerings in their series of Signers of

the Declaration of Independence. (H-I)

attachment to a base. Obv: GEORGE CHURCHILL KENNEY

AVIATION HALL OF FAME around a military bust to half right

of General Kenney. Birth year of 1889- in right center field. The

upper two thirds of the reverse is filled with various aerial combat

scenes illustrative of Kenney’s career. In exergue: 91

Guggenheim, the scion of a family with enormous wealth, used

the Guggenheim Foundation to fund a wide variety of aviation

related pursuits including the research of Dr. Robert J. Goddard,

upon which all modern developments of rockets and jet propulsion

was based and help establish schools of aeronautical engineer at

MIT. Georgia Tech, Cal Tech, University of Washington. Sanford

and the U. of Michigan. From these schools came many of the

aeronautical engineers who built today’s airplanes industry. (H)
