BRANT, BORN 1752, DIED 1807 around. Rx: BRANT MEMORIAL
UNVEILED AT BRANTFORD. CANADA. 1886 around a view of
the monument. Brant was a Mohawk Indian chief who was given
a captain’s commission by the British during the Revolutionary
War. He was given land in Canada at the end of the war as a
reward for his exploits. (D)

The Sokol movement (from the Slavic word for falcon) is a youth
sport movement and gymnastics organization first founded in the
Czech region of Austria-Hungary, Prague, in 1862 by Miroslav Tyrs
and Jindrich Fugner. Primarily a fitness training center, the Sokol,
also through lectures, discussions, and group outings provided
what Tyrs viewed as physical, moral, and intellectual training for

scattered field and rim marks, as shown. Obverse: FOR HVERT
ET TAB IGJEN ERSTATNING FINDES - HVAD UDAD TABES,
DET MAA INDAD VINDES around ,a standing robed & crowned
female figure at center flanked by frontally nude male youths to
either side. The youth at left represents Industry while the Arts is
represented by the youth on the right.
The reverse pictures the fairgrounds pavilion with a huge pennant
atop the building at the right. The structure in enclosed in a clover-
like frame, with a small clover-like device enclosing a triangle at
the top. A banner above reads DEN NORDISKE INDUSTRI-OG
KUNSTUDSTILLING, with “I - KJOBENHAVN, 1872” beneath,
small decorations below and at the top sides. (D)
