Here is an absolutely stunning oil on canvas of
fish and a creel and pole tucked into tall green
grass. Probably from the early part of the 20th
century, this picture simply shimmers and
glows in natural light. Every tiny detail, from
the light brown split willow in the creel to
the fishing line on the pole to the trout catch
spilling out of the creel, is beautifully rendered.
The painting measures 30” by 26” by 2-1/2” in
its original frame and has been professionally
cleaned and a tear invisibly repaired. It is signed
Crane in the lower left.
