Doris Stauble (1917-2007), an

Antiques Dealer inWiscasset,

Maine was known for her original

creations using antique containers

as the receptacles for her arrange-

ments of Victorian millinery fruit

and owers

. ey were one-of-a-

kind, showing the artistry of the

maker and are found in some of the

nest collections all over the coun-

try. . . Re-purposing antique items

that otherwise might not be perfect,

yet making a wonderful piece of folk

art and giving the object another life.

is one is set in a blue-painted tin

bucket and the overall height is 26”.

Nantucket Swing Handle

Basket dating from the

4th quarter of the 19th

century

. It is 7¾” tall (15”

to the top of the handle)

and 7¾” in diameter with a

delicate shaped handle and

long brass ears. Condition

is excellent, and the patina

is wonderful. e bottom

of the basket is impressed

with the name CAPT. EDDY.

PILOT and BOSTON, most

likely the owner who put

his name on his basket to

identify it.

A lovely piece of

Redware with a

great glaze and

an unusual form. ey were used to hold food that was

eaten with a spoon, such as soup, stew, or porridge. As

such, they were an item of daily table service and had a high

mortality rate. is one is a survivor . . . Likely Shenandoah

Valley, possibly Bell, circa 1800. (Scattered glaze loss near

handle from use; some interior glaze loss otherwise very

good condition; height: 2¼”, diameter: 3¼”.

Set of 6 Shorebird Decoys, Greater Yellowlegs, in

Original Paint. Rig Mate Flatties, Long Island, Circa

1900.

Essentially mint condition, including their bills.

Each bird is 13” to 13½” long. Custom display mount

is 33” long.
