22mm. + integral loop

and ring, as made. 14K gold. ( 11 . 8 g r ams ) Charles Vickers,

Sc. (Medalcraft Mint) Edgemarked: “14KT”. Uncirculated. The

obverse bears a front facing bust of our new president, GEORGE

W. BUSH above. The reverse bears the Presidential Seal and

the surrounding legend: FORTY - THIRD PRESIDENT OF

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA INAUGURATED

JANUARY 20, 2001.

50 of these small gold charms were struck. 15 were distributed

to members of the Medals Committee and other VIPs and the

remaining 35 were given to the President for him to give away

personally ($1000-1250)

Design, as above. It is believed that 50 of these larger size medals

were struck and distributed much like the 50 gold charms were

dispersed.

MEDAL, 2001.

69.7mm. Bronze. Karen Worth, Sc. (Hoffman)

Edge numbered “012” Uncirculated. Obverse with a finely

modeled bust of Gore to half left, his name, ALBERT ARNOLD

GORE, around. The reverse legend, PRESIDENT OF THE

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA INAUGURATED JANARY

20 TH , 2001 around a displayed eagle with stars as it appears on

the Seal of the President of the United States.

This was the medal commissioned by the Hoffman Mint

(maker’s of the 1993 Clinton Official Medal) to be entered

into the competition for the Official inaugural Medal in the

event that Al Gore won the presidency. About 3 unnumbered

specimens were given to medals committee members in

advance of the election and 15 numbered specimens were struck

after the election when it was known that the President-elect

was George W. Bush. We last sold an example (“004”) in 2013

for $1380.00.

Obv. Steve Adams, (Medalcraft Mint). Choice Unc. Obverse

with profile busts of Bush & Cheney facing left surrounded by

the legend: SECOND INAUGURATION JANUARY 20, 2005.

The reverser is blank save for the incused “14 KT” at bottom.

50 of these small gold charms were struck. 15 were distributed

to members of the Medals Committee and other VIPs and the

remaining 35 were given to the President for him to give away

personally This is the first of these presentation charms

that we have offered at auction. ($1000-1250)

.999 Silver. (7.32 oz.) Gladys Gunzer, Sc. Obv. Steve Adams,

Sc. Same design as above. It is believed that 50 of these larger

size medals were struck and distributed much like the 50 gold

charms were dispersed. It is the first of its kind to reach the

auction block. ($900-1200)
