agate jewelry from 1860-80. These pins, some with rock amethyst
and carnelian, ranged in price from $400 to $2200.
This unsigned oil painting of a schoolhouse, circa 1870, was tagged $3500 in the booth of
Carlson & Stevenson Antiques, Manchester Center, Vermont.
This set of four silver covered vegetable tureens made by Gorham, 1873,
with figural beehive finials, Neptune faces, acorns, grape leaves, cattails,
and lily pads and with convertible lids was priced at $18,500 by Vincent
Callahan & Co., Verbank, New York.
This rare woolwork of sailors and companions dancing, 1865-75,
with faces and hands of paper, 16¾" x 20¼", was priced at $7500 by
Earle D. Vandekar of Knightsbridge, Maryknoll, New York.
