, 1898, by Emil Carlsen (1853-1932), signed and

inscribed, 24" x 20", was priced at $99,500 at the booth of G. Sergeant

Antiques, Woodbury, Connecticut. Carlsen was born in Denmark and

immigrated to the United States in 1872.

Chrysanthemums

descended in

the artist’s family until 2011.
