PIN.

14k Gold (Tested) 5.5 grams. Near Mint Condition. The

reverse has a bale for attaching to the membership ribbon which is

no longer present. The back of the flag is stamped: CALDWELL

3.22.91 PATENT and is engraved: ELIZA J. WARREN/

MORLEY/ 8337. This 4 digit number and the 1891 patent date

is indicative of this being one of the earlier membership pins. (G)

Extremely Fine. Obv. GED. LAVDONIVS. EXERCITT. AVSTR.

SVMMVS IMP. Bust right. Rev. TAVRVNVM EXPVGNATVM.

Representation of the bombing of Belgrade. The top suspension

loop suggests that this piece might have been issued as an award.

Laudon had been brought out of retirement to be Commander-in-

Chief and he succeeded in taking Belgrade in just three weeks.

He was to die within a year on the 14 July 1790. In 1791 the City

was returned to the Turks following the Treaty of Svashtov. (F)

ONE HUNDREDAND FIFTIETH/ ANNIVERSARY/ OF THE/

BATTLE OF LEXINGTON/. Below, a tablet enclosing a figure

of a Minuteman, flanked on either side by the dates 1775 1925.

The few of these medals that bear the Curley edge mark are said

to be first strikings presented to political dignitaries. (F)

PAIR OF U.S. CONSTITUTION RELIC BOOKENDS,

1927

. Here are two foundry cast bronze bookends in the shape

of a ship’s wheel set on a rectangular base. The wheel is 6” in

diameter and the base is 1 1/4 x 5 3/4”. Nice XF/AU condition.

At the center of the wheel is the well-known Constitution relic

medal depicting the ship in full sail. The base is lettered at the

bottom: THIS MATERIAL WAS TAKEN FROM THE U. S.

FRIGATE CONSTITUTION 1927. (H)

5A. Silver. (10.5 grams.) Gem Proof. Obverse with WAR OF

1861 UNITED STATES around a displayed eagle. The reverse

is blank. While this is a common “type” it is exceptionally rare
