Louis Dlugosz

(1915-2002)

American, self-taught artist.

Louis Dlugosz was a steel worker and

artist with a fascination with clay.

He created his sculptures with his

Lines of Force

; they were formed from

the outside in, as opposed to the

traditional inside out. He was

considered one of the most original

artists of his time. MOMA owns

one of his pieces. A 2005 nine-page,

published article on his life in

Buffalo, NY is available.
