original wrought iron post. American, mid-19th c. Retains some of the original yellow sizing and some areas of gilt. Sheet copper and wrought
iron. 95” h x 57” w x 15” (diameter of sphere).
Rooster Weathervane
, Probably Harris & Company, Boston, Massachusetts. Ca. 1880-
1900. Full-body copper, copper sphere. Classic example of a Hamburg rooster having a full-chest perched on a sphere. Wonderful condition.
Original oxidized gilt surface with traces of sizing. 42”h x 25”w x 8 1/2”d (on stand).
Rare Ship Weathervane
, American, probably New
England. Possibly Cushing & White, Waltham, Massachusetts. Ca. 1880. Full body copper hull, cast iron sails and upper portion. Retaining
most of the original gilt. Condition: One bullet hole repair, minor imperfections. 35 1/2” h x 25” w x 2 1/4” d.
