Powerful study of the dance. Cooper obtained
a degree in art from the Pennsylvania University of Fine Art
and studied in Paris with Andre Lhote (1927-1928),
an in uential teacher of Cubism
(Pablo Picasso is included as one of his students).
Cooper was especially intrigued by the dance form and
frequently attended Martha Graham Productions.
This painting may represent the only oil on canvas of that
interest. 40”x 35”in original frame, 1930-1940. $3000.00
