The Personal Jointer Plane of Charles Dupee,

Wrentham, Massachusetts

Lot 776.

This is likely the most historically significant

American 18th Century plane ever sold at public auc-

tion. It was the personal working plane of Charles

Dupee, planemaker of Wrentham, Massachusetts. It is

ornamented with pewter inlay, including a plate in-
