This Art Nouveau 18k gold

plique-à-jour brooch with ten

round diamonds and a pearl drop

was made in 1910 and included

a certificate of authenticity. The

2½" long x 1¾" wide brooch with

a 16" long chain brought $2000.

x 22" x 15¾", with extensive inlays

and decorations combining decora-

tive elements from French, English,

high quality. Housing an eight-day

movement with tubular chimes, it

Four 20th-century Chinese famille rose porcelain

panels, each measuring approximately 8" x 14½",

brought $7623.25. Witherell’s, Sacramento, Califor-

nia, in an Internet auction that ended January 26.

These six drawings on paper with signatures attributed

to Keith Haring, Maurice Sendak, Dr. Seuss, and Roy

Lichtenstein brought a total of $2837.50. Witherell’s,

This 24" x 29" oil on canvas by noted American Impres-

sionist painter Richard Emil Miller (1875-1943) realized

$2645. Miller was a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and

part of the Giverny colony of American Impressionists

around the turn of the century. Upon his return to the

States, he worked briefly in Pasadena, California, before

settling in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Direct Auction
