Lucky Strike cigarette promotion pieces always
attract attention. This matchbox butler stand made
of wrought iron and tin, 16" high, sold for $393.25
(est. $100/200).
Published by the Henderson Lithographing Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, this circa
1890 C. L. Centlivre Brewing Co. poster, “Brewers & Bottlers of Lager Beer,
Fort Wayne, Indiana,” brought $242 (est. $200/400). It is 24" x 36".
At 30" x 36¼", this Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy three-way display
stand, with the mottos “ ‘A Life Saver’ / Saves The Children / Pleasant
and Safe to Take,” sold for $605 (est. $100/200).
Large in size at 19" in diameter, this Satin Cigarettes
tin advertisement tray made $332.75 (est. $60/120).
Several opera posters crossed the auction
block, including this one by Jules Chéret
(French, 1836-1932). This “Théâtre de
l’Opéra Carnaval” 1892 color lithographed
example that brought $968 (est. $1200/1800)
is 48" x 33½" and was not part of the Kovel
consignments.

is 19½" x 7" x 11½".

1897 advertisement asks,
