SHOW -

17-D

Patricia

Stauble of

Wiscasset,

Maine, had

this great

rooster for

$595.

The tabletop abacus

with colored balls

was $1050 from Gail

Piatt of Contoocook,

New Hampshire.

The stack of painted round pantry boxes sold

to another dealer at the show after we took this

picture. The 1900s basket quilt, 75" x 73", was

$395 from Wilhide’s Antiques, Shippensburg,

Pennsylvania.

This four-drawer grain-painted chest with unusual contrasts was $2950 from

Holden Antiques, Sherman, Connecticut.

This Diller practice piano keyboard was $185 fromMelissa Alden of Portsmouth,

New Hampshire.

The 1890s owl from Axtell Antiques, Deposit,

New York, was 3' tall x 1' diameter and $6500.

Maybe it was an advertising piece for White

Owl Cigars?

Bonnie Ferriss

of Cambridge,

New York, asked

$1900 for these

yellow measures

that she had in

her kitchen until

that morning.

The absolute giveaway piece of the showwas this Pennsylvania plank-seat settee with stencil decoration

that David and Becky Griffiths of Griffiths Antiques, Utica, New York, bought years ago. It sold, of

course—what a deal for $395. We saw a similar one at another show for $1300.
