Miniature sea gulls, 20" tall, circa 1970, by Wendell Gilley (1904-1983), Southwest Harbor, Maine. Gilley was a plumber who spent his spare time carving decoys and birds that were sold through Abercrombie & Fitch. The Rockefeller family helped build a museum dedicated to Gilley in Southwest Harbor. The carvings are on a wall-mounted wooden branch and retain their original paint. S. Kochan A pair of silver camp cups by Richard Humphreys, carried by Colonel Anthony Walton White in the Revolutionary War. Each approximately 111/16" high, bearing the engraved cipher “AWW” on the body and the touchmark of the Philadelphia silversmith on the base, circa 1776. Huron warrior, circa 1755, from A Collection of the Dresses of Different Nations, Ancient and Modern, London: Thomas Jefferys, 1757-72, 479 plates, 4 volumes. This extremely rare and important work on historic costumes is almost never complete. It was formerly in the collection of Rudolph Valentino, legendary silent film actor. Beautiful carved mahogany case enclosing a sophisticated, regulating movement with maintaining power, and pinwheel escapement. This clock adds to the growing body of evidence that many of Voigt’s clockworks, including one made for Thomas Jefferson, were actually made by John Child. Circa 1815. Extremely rare four-medallion Enville Hall Staffordshire open vegetable dish depicting Jefferson, Lafayette (“The Nation’s Guest”), Governor Clinton, and President Washington, with Enville Hall and a view of the aqueduct bridge at Rochester. Made by the Andrew Stevenson firm, circa 1825. William R. & Teresa F. Kurau Circa 1800 polychromed creamware Liverpool pitcher with Americanflagged clipper ships. Eye-catching coloring decorates this sailor’s farewell piece measuring 11" tall and in excellent condition with crisp transfers. Made in England for export to the newly formed United States. Framed copper-plate printed textile fragment titled “The Apotheosis of Washington and Franklin.” This panel depicts the Franklin section alone. England, circa 1790.
